Introduction: One Health consists of the interrelationship between human health,
theenvironmentand animal health. Among the diseases that arise from interactions
between humans, animals and theen vironment are zoonoses such as leptospirosis,
a bacterial zoonosis with a world wide distribution, caused by bactéria of the genus
Leptospira, which affect sboth animals and humans. Objective: Toanalyze the
scientific evidence on leptospirosis prevention and control strategies in the context of
the single health approach, from 2014 to 2024. Methodology: This is a narrative,
descriptive literaturere view with a qualitative approach. The bibliographic search was
carried out in online data bases such as ScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO)
and Pubvet, from 2014 to 2024. Results and discussion: In developing countries,
integration between the human, animal and environmental health sectors for the
control of diseases, especially zoonoses, is still deficient and this hasled to
anincrease in the frequency of these diseases and there surgence of those already
under control. The fight against leptospirosis with inthe single health framework
requires a collective and coordinate deffort, where prevention and control are carried
out in a holistic manner, taking in toac countall the factors that canin fluence the
health of ecosystems, animals and humans. Final considerations: Measures such
as rodent control, proper waste and rainwater management, and the implement ation
of adequate sanitary infrastructure are necessary toprevent exposure to the
pathogen.
